The P R O System was developed over years of working with businesses involved in research and development.  A significant gap was observed between the methods of University or academic research and the needs of for-profit businesses in competition to provide goods and services to customers.  Also certain gaps in traditional Project Management were observed which negatively impacted a business' ability to do successful research.  Bridging those gaps became an essential part of moving companies towards R&D success.

The company was formed as Wallingup Research pty ltd in 2005 to help businesses in Western Australia access the kind of high-quality professional research advisement available to similar businesses in the US.  Founded by John Jacob (B.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Aerospace Engineering), it has since been re-branded as Practical Research Outcomes to better represent the service and benefits it delivers.  Mr. Jacob's 25 years as a Research Engineer, Manager and Consultant in a wide variety of fields uniquely qualifies him to deliver specialist Project Management for innovation research to all types of businesses.
